Dominica: The Parliamentary Representative of Roseau Central, Melissa Skerrit, is still living in the festive vibes created by the most anticipated carnival of the region – Mas Domnik 2023, which ended on February 22, 2023. The Minister has shared several glimpses of the carnival on her official Facebook account.
The Carnival 2023 held in the Commonwealth of Dominica made a festival-like environment in the country for almost a month as people danced and sang live on the streets of the island nation. Melissa Skerrit said, “Yes, Carnival 2023 was certainly a hit! Don’t miss 2024 if you didn’t come out or come home.”
Furthermore, the parliamentary representative praised another local talent who came to Dominica for Carnival 2023 and said, “Another local talent that we love collaborating with. Coming all the way from St.Thomas but born and bred in Dominica, Pamphil Prevost brought his wonderful services back home. We support our own! Our Amnesia Foam truck is a hit with everyone.”
The Minister made a royal mess in a CrazyMess t-shirt band with water blasters, foam, paint and a water truck. Melissa Skerrit was seen wearing a parrot-coloured off-shoulder top which she paired with black shorts and black shoes.
“Don’t miss out again on this epic experience with the Bouyon King Amnesia Carnival Dominica Asa Bantan in the ultimate wet fete on the road. Crazymess t-shirt band was another fun event despite the hiccups of 3 burnt generators back to back. But with Amnesia, nobody can stop Bouyon. We quickly switched to a brand new truck and sound system in minutes. Special thanks to our patrons for your understanding,” added Melissa Skerrit.
The Carnival 2023 was a huge success, featuring several local bands, musicians, dancers, and small business owners who got the right platform to showcase and sell their local products. Several tourists also enjoyed the carnival-like environment in Dominica as the nation was lit up with festivities and events.
