Melissa Skerrit supported candidate Adicia Burton wins Miss Dominica 2023

Dominica: Adicia Burton from the Kalinago territory became the winner of the Miss Dominica 2023 Pageant. Burton was supported by the Parliamentary Representative of Roseau Central, Melissa Skerrit. The Pageant was held on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Carnival City, Dominica. 

While asking the people to support Adicia Burton, Melissa Skerrit took to Facebook and said, “Tonight is going to be fabulous. We are in full cheerleading and support mode for our gorgeous Queen contestant Adicia Burton.”

She said that Burton is a Kalinago daughter and Roseau Central r of our soil and Roseau Central representative for the Kalingo Queen show, now competing to be Dominica’s Queen. 

“A woman of our emerald waters and a daughter of our land. Her ancestral blood runs as deep as our valleys, and our praises will be as high as our mountains Tonight! Come out to support your friends and family !! Adicia, we are with you! We are ready to beat the victory drums,” added Melissa Skerrit. 

Adicia was sponsored by Petro Caribe, and she did a Calypso performance highlighting Kalinago history and reparations for indigenous people during the Miss Dominica Pageant Talent round. 

The Pageant was powered by Flow – the Official Telecommunications partner of Mas Domnik 2023, Belfast Estate, BB RUM- the Official Rum of Mas Domnik 2023, Josephine Gabriel, Whitchurch, and Express Des Isles.

Moreover, the event was headlined by the Bouyon King ASA BANTAN, the iconic DJ Outkast, the “Run Wid It’s a legend – Killa, Dominica’s Trilla-G, Signal Band, the Fresh Prince of Bouyon REO, Dj Sleem, Unstoppable Shax, Major Mystic and so much more.
