Queen Elizabeth II Coffin is resting in peace at Holyroodhouse palace. The Queen’s Coffin will be in state at Westminster Hall in London from Wednesday at 5 pm until 6:30 am Monday 19 September.
The Oak Coffin arrived in the city after six hours of a long journey from Balmoral castle and the people who wanted to pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth II.
A massive crowd was gathered outside Buckingham Palace to pay respects to the late Monarch of Britain. People across the globe brought flowers and teddy bears to show their love for Queen.
The King and the Royal Family’s members will attend the coffin in procession at 14:35BST. The service will be held at St Giles’ Cathedral. The Queen will rest at the cathedral until Tuesday afternoon, allowing the public to regard her coffin.
The Queen’s coffin will rest on a lifted platform, known as a catafalque, beneath the 11th Century hall’s medieval timber roof.
Each corner of the platform will be protected in a continuous vigil by soldiers from units that serve the Royal Household.
On Wednesday, 14 September, she will be brought to Westminster Hall from Buckingham Palace in a slow procession, accompanied by a military parade.
On Thursday, Buckingham palace announced the demise of Queen Elizabeth by saying that Queen had passed peacefully during the afternoon at Balmoral Castle.
After the death of Britain’s Monarch, her elder son took over the throne and was officially proclaimed King Charles III.
The casket will be carried on a gun carriage of the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, with the King and family members of the Royal Family walking behind. Guns will be fired from Hyde Park at one-minute intervals throughout the procession, which is expected to arrive at Westminster Hall at 15:00BST.
