St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew felt honoured to deliver brief remarks to the lead nurses within St Kitts and Nevis during the commencement of a two-day Nurses Leadership Workshop held at the CUNA Conference Center.
Nurses in leadership positions in St Kitts are currently taking part in a two-day Nurse Leader Workshop at the CUNA Conference Center.
The workshop aims to equip the participants with the necessary information to build a game plan for ongoing professional development in the role of nurse leaders.
A brief opening ceremony was held this morning, featuring remarks from the Prime Minister and Minister of Health, Dr Terrance Drew, and Principal Nursing Officer, Dr Rondalyn Dennis-Bradshaw.
Dr Drew gave inspiring remarks to the nurses, thanked them for their sacrifice and bravery, and reminded them of their crucial role in the healthcare industry of the Federation.
In his remarks, PM Terrance Drew said that nurses are the backbone of the healthcare system, and their contributions are invaluable. Whether they are working on the front lines of a COVID-19 pandemic, providing comfort to patients as well as families during difficult times, or supporting their colleagues through tough situations, they make a difference in society every day.
He stated that they make a positive impact on the lives of others, and that is something they should be proud of.
As the Minister of Health, PM Drew is always at the forefront of boosting the morale of doctors and nurses of the Federation. He said that leadership skills are highly significant for nurses to achieve their goals, and those who show strong leadership skills can make a positive work environment and motivate their colleagues to provide the best possible care to patients.
“Effective leadership promotes teamwork, fosters creativity and innovation, and creates a culture of accountability. I urge all nurses to keep up the great work and remember your efforts make a difference,” concluded PM Terrance Drew.
