New Delhi, India, will host G20 foreign ministers in March this year. In September of this year, India will hold the G20 summit, with 43 heads of the delegation expected to attend. Bangladesh, Egypt, Mauritius, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Oman, Singapore, Spain, and the United Arab Emirates have all been invited by India as special guest nations. The G20 summit will be held in several Indian cities.
Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, which translates to “One Earth, One Family, One Future,” is the theme of India’s G20 presidency. The nation intends to conduct more than 200 meetings in over 50 cities in 32 different workstreams. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, this G20 presidency allows India to give delegates a taste of the nation’s rich cultural history and provide them with a unique Indian experience. A year-long “India Experience” has also been organized by India for G20 members, special invitees, and others.
Although a specific date and location have yet to be announced, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi stated that India would host the G20 foreign ministers conference. Bagchi said, “the meeting would occur in Delhi, as scheduled; additional information will be released soon.”
An annual summit is held by the G20, a group of 20 major economies that includes Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, the European Union, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, France, Germany, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States. As the host nation, India will have the opportunity to influence the agenda and priorities of the G20 meetings and discussions.
