South Wales Police recently shared a piece of information on their official Facebook page announcing that the applications are still open for PCSOs.
The vital police staff role is to build warm relationships with the neighbourhood policing team, where PCOS will spend time working with the communities of South Wales, building relationships and breaking down barriers.
One of the capable officers of South Wales police, PCSO Birch, has been a PCSO in Clydach, Swansea, for almost 14 years.
In one of her statements, PCOS Birch said, “My passion was to make a difference truly and to embrace my role and community and to become a core part of our community.”
During her time as a PCSO, she has been active in engaging with people of all ages, from the young to the elderly – from activities on the buses that the elderly members of the community commonly use to leasing with local businesses to deliver food hampers to those in need.
PCSO Birch is currently working with local schools as part of the Children’s Christmas Gift Scheme, which aims to give children who are suffering hardship, illness or family bereavement a surprise visit from Santa and his elves with personally selected gifts.
She is a massive part of her community and has helped to make a real difference.
