While some sabs paid a visit to Cheshire Hounds, another team of sabs joined great friends North Wales Hunt Sabs to sab the Flint and Denbigh hunt on their opening day of the season.
This despicable hunt has met for their opening meet for the last few years at Plas Newydd, Trefnant near St. Asaph, and sure enough to find them there quaffing their port.
Interestingly three North Wales police officers were at the meet and dealt with the hunt complaining that the sab drone was flying illegally.
A sab was worried there were dogs in the box on the front of the quad. The Police requested the terrier man to open the box to inspect the contents. The terrier man refused to open the box, and there were scuffles with Sabs. The Officer politely requested the Sabs to move backwards so he could inspect the package.
Low and behold, there was a terrier in there. He was then questioned why a terrier was required on a ‘trail hunt’.
The terrier man (Smith) attempted to make excuses about part of his job: to control vermin. However, he had no plausible excuses as to why he had his terrier locked in a box on a trail hunt unless it was for ridding the vermin area, aka hunters!
Meanwhile, support “kicked off against sabs to attempt to distract the police from investigating why terriers were required on a “trail hunt”. All to no avail and at this time, 11.20 the hunt left the meet with lots of foot sabs accompanying and sabs in cars moving ahead.
This was the pattern of the day, with foot sabs following and sab cars deploying further foot sabs every time the hunt placed its whipper-in Toby “on point” to direct the huntsman Metcalf and hounds onto any flushed fox.
The hunt was swamped, and they and their support got increasingly frustrated and angry, leading to one sab having a potential assault against her which is with Police. Another sab had to jump out of the way of a dangerously driven quad by a terrier boy.
The anger and frustration shown by this hunt, terrier boys and its loathsome support to the sabs who wish to protect wildlife is not normal human compassionate behaviour.
