Christopher Dawson, popularly known as Santa Claus on Facebook, recently shared that Christmas will be with us in only four days.
The secret Santa in Cardiff is known for sharing his strong opinions about the government authorities on Facebook.
On Facebook, Secret Santa, popularly known as Christopher Dawson, shared an updated writing:-
It has been wonderful to embrace more new schools this Christmas and release the Santa the children deserve on them. A wonderful teacher came out of retirement and moved to a different school from the one I used to visit with her.Â
At this new school, everyone asked, ” So what do we do for Santa? What does he need…she laughed and said, ‘just sit down and watch what happens next; you will love it’. Thanks, Cath. And yes, have you and every school booked for 2023, hohoho.
You supported visits to Nazareth and Springbank Care Homes, where Santa got to deliver gifts to all the elderly (many over 100). I got two marriage proposals along the way. We had pictures, and there were tears from the staff and the guests as they were taken back to their childhood many years ago.
I have been able to visit many families who simply deserved a Santa visit. Families with autistic and epileptic children cannot attend events without health issues. Then there are the disabled, who I have loved to visit.
Not forgetting the many places Santa has visited with your support, such as the Ffynon Wen Pub, where they have supported families in difficulty and much more and Asda, where the elderly have hot drinks and eats supported by you and Santa…
Some will receive a financial gift through their door from a Secret Santa, and again you have helped make this happen. Others, such as the homeless, will receive assistance from Santa – enough for a warm room in a hotel for Christmas Night and a hot meal…although many outlets like the Huggard Centre help at these times.
Santa had to decide to keep his strength and health over Christmas, which was at an early cost where he had to choose not to visit Ty Hafan, Noahs Ark and many others. My thinking was to impact the many people hurting at ground zero…the elderly, infirm, homeless and families who could not afford Christmas.Â
It was my toughest decision, but I am glad I did this with your help. With a visit to Rhydypennau Library and my adult-only talk there tonight, entitled Being Santa Claus, we hope to have raised well over £1000 for Ty Hafan together…
The looks on people’s faces from 2 to 102 have not changed. They remain magical. The smiles from the young and memories from the older show love for Santa this Christmas.
We lost many of our elderly in the journey through Covid. We rode the storm where nurses and doctors would leave their families for weeks to keep their children and loved ones safe from harm and put themselves on the front line of possible infection.Â
There can be no bigger sacrifice than treating a stranger who needs help ahead of doing the daily things required by your family. Tough choices, but I love you for it.
My home visits this Christmas have been the most incredible. I have someone who I have visited for so many years and watched their children grow from small children to teens. My time with them is over, and the tears on the doorstep from my special friend and Santa as we hugged and waved goodbye was a moment I will cherish.
I am still hoping to be in Cardiff from 5.30-7 pm on Friday 23rd Dec to take a final Christmas walk around Cardiff market stalls, winter wonderland and the Castle Ice Rink. Weather permitting, I will be there for you and your families to see Santa one last time before heading back to the North Pole…
