Newly designated Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince William with his wife Kate, made an emotional visit to Sandringham a week after their grandmother and Queen Elizabeth II’s demise.
Prince William and Princess Kate travelled to Sandringham on Thursday to view all the floral tributes members to the public made outside the castle.
Sandringham is the most known place where the royal family spends their time, especially during Christmas. It’s also poignantly where Queen Elizabeth’s father, King George VI, died. Kate and William have a property on Sandringham called Amner Hall, where they spent most of the pandemic.
The Royal family’s official Twitter handle on Thursday shared the photographs and worded, “In Sandringham, Manchester and Glasgow today, members of The Royal Family were able to meet members of the public and see some of the many tributes left in memory of Her Majesty The Queen.”
This is not the first time they have stepped out to view floral tributes to the Queen. This past weekend, they ventured outside Windsor with Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, in a surprise reunion. Today new Prince and Princess of Wales spent time at Sandringham, reading the tributes left outside and talking with members of the public.
The funeral of the Late Monarch of Britain is set to be held on Monday. The Queen’s funeral is said to be one of the most massive royal gatherings in the UK, including royals and Politicians from all over the world.
Invitations are sent to the politicians and notables across the globe, with some 500 heads of state and foreign dignitaries expected to attend the Queen’s funeral.
Most leaders have been instructed by Royal authorities to arrive on commercial flights and told they would be bussed en masse from a site in west London.
The funeral ceremony of Queen Elizabeth II will be held at Westminster Abbey, which has the capacity of around 2,200 people.
