St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew had the opportunity to conduct several meaningful and vital discussions with the nation’s Youth on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at the National Consultation event.
The theme of the dialogue session was “Transformation to a Sustainable Island State: A Conversation with the Nation’s Youth”. It was held at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort on Wednesday.
During the session, Prime Minister Dr Terrance had the opportunity to interact and engage with the nation’s Youth. He also emphasised the Youth’s contribution to the nation’s sustainable development and transformation.
Notably, Through this dialogue session, the nation has a unique approach to annual Budget Debates by engaging the nation’s youth in the conversation on national affairs.
Under the theme ‘Transformation to a Sustainable Island State,’ the government emphasises the importance of the youth’s perspective in pursuing a resilient nation.
Prime Minister Dr Terrance also shared insights on the transformation’s pillars and unveiled the new National Development Planning Framework (NDPF).
The Prime Minister also recently took to his official social media handle to extend his pleasure from the event. He added, “I was immensely pleased to see so many youths present at our National Consultation yesterday dubbed “Transformation to a Sustainable Island State: A Conversation with the Nation’s Youth”.
The Prime Minister shared that engaging with our nation’s youth was an excellent opportunity.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the youth’s contribution to developing the nation.
“Our young people hold the key to our progress as a nation, and I am always grateful for any opportunity to amplify their voices, nurture their ideas, and engage them in the heart of high-level governmental discussions,” he asserted.
