United Kingdom-based writer recently shared his small piece of writing about relationships and how to handle them.
While sharing his piece of writing, Vex King wrote:-
Relationships are often hard work. And it’s easy to forget that sometimes our insufferable habits, traits, and weak spots are the work the other person pushes through and builds around in order to grow closer to us.
None of us are perfect. But the grace and gratitude that come with unconditional love have a sacred way of helping us guide one another in a way that is patient, kind, and nurturing.
It’s important to note gratitude’s role in a healthy, fulfilling, and authentic relationship. When we put down the laundry list of expectations we hold our partners to, it’s so much easier to see them for who they are and appreciate the quirks they contribute to the dynamic. Most of all, it will humble you to recognize that they also welcome and hold space for your imperfect humanness.
Though it’s critical to maintain your needs and seek those who naturally desire to meet them as you meet theirs in return, it’s just as important to know that no couple is 100% compatible. Each of us has to work around each other to some degree.
But bending for the one you love is incredibly easy when they recognize it, appreciate it, and never take it for granted. Because in a world where so many walk away when things get hard, someone chooses to stay to make it work.
So as you seek to improve, strengthen, and enhance the value and depth of your relationships, avoid looking only at the problems. Start with what’s working, what’s satisfying, and what you’re most grateful for, and go from there.
