Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew posted an update about the meeting with Samal Duggins, Minister of Sports and Cultural Department, and Mahesh Ramani, the owner of St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, over dinner also accompanied by his wife Diani Jmesha Prince-Drew.
Samal Duggins recently held a strategic meeting with Mahesh Ramani, on this year’s tournament. Also in that meeting, other attendees were Team Manager Dario Barthley, and Director of Sports Jeffrey Hazel, at the Port Zante office, which focused on the logistics and plans for hosting the CPLT20.
Warner Park Cricket Stadium in the heart of St Kitts and Nevis, is back with all the razzmatazz as it stages six matches from the men’s competition from August 23 to 27. It has always been a mainstay on the CPL calendar, with an electrifying atmosphere and passionate fans of the game. What everyone is waiting for at Warner Park is the CPL, promising so much excitement and great cricketing action, plus vibrant celebrations.
The 11th edition of the CPLT20 begins on August 16, just three days after India-West Indies conclude their series in Florida, US. It will stretch until September 24, with matches scheduled all over the Caribbean nations. The fixtures for this year have been confirmed to be played in Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, and Guyana.
The CPL will begin in Saint Lucia, where the first six games at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground will take place from August 16 to 20; the baton will then change to other iconic venues, among them the historic Kensington Oval in Barbados. From August 30 to September 3, Barbados Royals play at home for the first time since the new name was brought on board from Tridents; hence, it’s a historic touch for this year.
The commitments made by the local authorities and the Patriots franchise to provide a world-class experience to the players as well as the fans can be supported by the preparations and arrangements undergoing in St Kitts and Nevis. Minister Duggins also expressed his enthusiasm about the upcoming tournament and assured everyone to put up his collaborative efforts and will make sure that the event is a success with everything in place.
Cricket lovers and fans all around the world are looking forward to being an audience to the talent, entertainment, and Caribbean culture, as the time closes for the much-awaited CPLT20. The federation of St. Kitts and Nevis will be at the forefront of this biggest party in sport, and a well-deserving appreciation for their careful planning, hard work, and efforts, which will go into making the 2023 edition of the CPLT20 unforgettable.
PM Drew even appreciated Mikyle Louis to have been selected to be a part of the team and asked the citizens to support the Patriots.
