The Government of St Kitts and Nevis and PM Terrance Drew has acknowledged the Leeward Islands Under-19 Team for their achievement and an excellent performance at the CWI Rising Stars under-19 Women’s T20 Championship.
The U-19 team on arrival, was congratulated by the Prime Minister, Dr Terrance Drew for their outstanding performance and finishing at the second position in the T20 Championship.
PM Drew on his social media handle, quoted “I want to congratulate the Leeward Islands Under-19 Team for their outstanding performance in the CWI Rising Stars Under-19 Women’s T20 Championship. The team finished 2nd in the championship.”
He highlighted the victory putting up pictures of Jahzara Claxton, Captain of the Women’s under-19 team, holding the trophy, being the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament. Along with that a group picture of the entire cricket team on the social media.

The Prime Minister remarkably congratulated the members of the U-19 team from St Kitts and Nevis, namely, Jada Collis, Jcazenique Hodge, Gabrielle Harrylall, Aliyah Weekes, Kayzg Boyles and specially the Captain Jahzara Claxton for being named as the MVP of the tournament.
He also underscored that he had appointed Claxton as the Youth Board Member on the violence as a Public Health Perspective Committee. He also stated that she was rising star and an example for her coevals.
PM Drew also took the moment to commend Sharlene Martin and Percy Daniel who during the tournament acted as the Team Manager and Assistant Coach for their assistance, both being from the federation.
Apart from the Prime Minister of the nation, Minister of Sports, Samal Duggins also held to the moment and congratulated the entire team for their accomplishment through Facebook.
Duggins was the one leading the reception and welcoming unit at the RLB International Airport to receive the victorious Women’s Under-19 team, where Duggins was accompanied by Valencia Syder, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sports, and the officials from the St Kitts Cricket Association.
The Prime Minister concluded with “Congratulations once again to the entire team. We continue to support your efforts,” expressing his amuse.
