A highly anticipated Christmas attraction in Greater Manchester, organised by viral beauty brand P.Louise, has been cancelled just weeks before its scheduled opening, leaving fans disheartened and organizers devastated.
The “Pinkmas” event, which was set to run from 1 December to 4 January, promised an immersive festive experience featuring a pink-themed ice skating rink, pantomime performances, and other Christmas attractions. Tickets for the event sold out rapidly, highlighting its popularity among fans of the brand.
Originally planned to take place at the P.Louise store inside the Trafford Centre, the event was later moved to a larger “upgraded location” on Barton Dock Road in TraffordCity due to delays in the store’s opening. Despite the relocation and months of preparation, founder Paige Louise Williams confirmed the cancellation, citing unresolved issues with the licensing process.
In an emotional statement shared online, Ms. Williams said she was “devastated” by the decision to cancel the event, which was already nearly complete. “I cannot take the risk of opening the event without a definite resolution, as the last thing I would ever want is to disappoint so many of you,” she wrote.
She added that although the physical structure was “already in place,” it was no longer possible to proceed responsibly without full licensing approval. All ticket holders, she assured, would receive a full refund within five days.
Tickets for Pinkmas ranged from £60 for off-peak times to £80 for peak hours, with timeslots running daily between 10am and 9pm. The event was initially set to exclude Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day.
Many fans expressed disappointment online, praising Ms. Williams for her transparency and commitment to customer satisfaction despite the setback. Others noted how eagerly they had anticipated the event after following her progress updates on social media.
P.Louise has built a strong global following since its launch in 2014. Ms. Williams, who started the brand with a £20,000 loan from her grandmother, began by offering make-up classes at her salon in Droylsden, Greater Manchester, before expanding internationally through online tutorials and viral makeup products.
Her most successful product, the “Rumour Base,” gained worldwide recognition after being endorsed by beauty influencer NikkieTutorials. Today, the company is projected to achieve a revenue of £138 million this year.
While the Pinkmas cancellation is a major disappointment for fans, Ms. Williams expressed hope for future projects, promising to “work towards giving everyone the most perfect solution.” She thanked her loyal supporters for their “incredible” understanding, assuring them that her team would reach out personally to each affected customer.
Despite the setback, P.Louise’s loyal fan base remains optimistic, with many encouraging the brand to bring back the Pinkmas experience next year—bigger, brighter, and fully licensed.
