United Kingdom:Â Charitable Organisation World Vision UK were thrilled to host the second event for their African Philanthropy Initiative earlier this week.Â
As per the Update, The evening Sunset Event was dedicated to fostering connections, celebrating achievements, and envisioning a brighter future for Africa.
World Vision UK is honoured to have two distinguished speakers join us, none other than DJ Cuppy and Her Excellency Ambassador Dr. Olufolake, First Lady of Kwara State, Nigeria.Â
Their inspirational talks on the power of philanthropy and the potential of the African continent have given us great hope for fostering sustainable change.
The World Vision UK, while highlighting the importance of Climate, said, “Despite only accounting for less than 4% of global greenhouse gases, Africa is highly vulnerable to the effects of #ClimateChange. If we do not act now, climate change could push more than 100 million people back into poverty by 2030.”
 Approximately 1 billion children are already at extremely high risk of drought, flooding, and other climate related hazards.
Over the next 3 years, World Vision UK aim to raise £21 million to combat the devastating effects of climate change.Â
Through 1,000 projects across 47 countries, the Organisation help to positively impact the lives of over 4.4 million people, including 2.17 million children.Â
“But we know we cannot do this alone.” while stating this, the World Vision sought people’s support.Â
They also extended their heartfelt gratitude, thanked the highly esteemed guests who attended and made individual pledges towards their African Philanthropy Initiative.Â
