As discussed under the new plan, the country’s mayor announced that passengers using bus services in west Yorkshire would only have to pay less than £2.

Last year Tracy Brabin was the first ever elected mayor of west Yorkshire. She said that the local communities were facing the crippling cost of living crises.

Mayor said that this would help in making the bus journey affordable. People can easily take advances of these affordable bus services in west Yorkshire.

Tracy Brabin added that People could see a reduction of up to £1.50 in the cost of a single journey. Passengers can also make unlimited journeys for £4.50 a day through the MCard mobile app.

As West Yorkshire’s mayor, Ms Brabin is responsible for working with West Yorkshire Combined Authority to oversee policies such as transport and housing.

While announcing the scheme, Brabin said we are making bus travel more straightforward and cheaper through the Mayor’s Fares.

One can hop on a bus from Huddersfield to Halifax or Bradford to Bingley and would only have to pay more than £2 for your trip.

As some of the communities face a crippling cost-of-living crisis, the government is determined to do things that can help ease the burden on the people.

Susan Hinchcliffe, Leader of Bradford City Council and Chair of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority Transport Committee, said it is an ambitious plan for urgent times.

Susan Hinchcliffe added that it provides an immediate saving for regular bus passengers and simplifies fares for people using bus services for the first time.

The travel scheme has been funded for three years under an agreement with bus service operators through the new west Yorkshire enhanced partnership.

“We hope this added choice for customers will encourage more people to discover the great value in bus travel. This will help us grow passenger numbers and reduce traffic congestion in towns and cities across the region, ” said the regional bus operator spokesperson.
