The United States embassy in London took the social media on Friday, March 31, 2023, to express gratitude for the visit of Ambassador Jane Hartley in Manchester; Ambassador Jane Hartley visited the heart of Northwest England first-hand, Manchester, on Friday, March 24, 2023.
The Embassy also shared about the visit of Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham and Leader of Manchester City Council, and Ambassador Bev Craig to the U.S. and their discussion on future opportunities to work together to increase U.S. investment and partnership with Greater Manchester.
The Ambassador also saw the statue of President Lincoln that stands in central Manchester, providing a long-lasting reminder of the support the working people of the region gave during the Civil War, highlighting the nation’s shared history and values.
Ambassador Jane Hartley also met with U.S. and U.K. businesses from across the tech, finance, food and manufacturing sectors to discuss their investment in Manchester and how U.S.+ U.K. partnerships can do more for people on both sides of the Atlantic.
Reportedly, the U.S. Ambassador Jane. D. Hartley is serving is an American diplomat who has also been serving as the United States Ambassador in the Joe Biden administration since 2022; she has also served as the United States ambassador to France and Monaco and was also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations from 2014 till 2017 during the Barack Obama administration.
Ambassador Jane Hartley began working as the executive director for the Democratic Mayors’ Conference for the Democratic National Committee from 1974 until 1977. and from 1977 to 1978. She then worked as director of congressional relations in the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.
