England, Sherborne: An Independent Day and Boarding School for Girls in Sherborne, Sherborne School for Girls, also called Sherborne Girls, is delighted to host the first Chemistry Symposium of the academic year 2023-24 Yesterday, October 8, 2023.
The School were also thrilled to welcome over 150 incredible Sixth Form pupils from Sherborne School and other community schools, including Leweston School, Millfield Senior School, The Gryphon School, Clayesmore School and King’s Bruton.
The Head of Chemistry, Antonio Angelosanto, extended his pleasure. He commented, “The audience was treated to an array of diverse, yet highly informative, presentations which covered a range of topics from ‘KRAS – The Undruggable Protein’, ‘Photosynthesis in Industrial Chemistry’, ‘The Chemistry of Horrors’, ‘The Discovery and use of Dopamine’ and ‘Exploring the uses of Isotopes in the Modern world”.
The Event also showcased scientific literature research. The Symposium aims to academically inspire and enrich both the participants and the assembled audience.
The Sherborne Girls (U6), Charlotte and Sinali, gave an excellent presentation on the discovery, synthesis and use of Dopamine and its effect on the human body.
The evening was concluded with refreshments and a chance for the pupils from all seven schools to socialise and reflect on the scientific presentations’.
Reportedly, The Sherborne Girls is the Sherborne-based Independent Day and Boarding School, allowing girls to explore various subjects, including English, maths, science, religion, and a foreign language.
Recently, the School has also marked and celebrated International Boarding Day. The School also excitedly celebrated the September Highlights.
From art masterclasses to the Glee Cup, volunteering and hosting a Macmillan Coffee Morning, they shared that it’s a busy month for their girls. They also said they can’t wait to see what the rest of October brings.
