UK: RHS hosts Chelsea Flower Show, presents Elizabeth Medal

The United Kingdom’s Horticulture Society Royal Horticultural Society hosted the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in London on Monday, May 22, 2023, and presented the Elizabeth Medal to honour the Majesty King Charles III to recognise their commitment to championing Horticulture.

The Royal Horticultural Society, the United Kingdom’s Horticultural-based society for cultivating green plants and trees, organised the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in London, United Kingdom, from Monday, May 22, 2023, to Saturday, May 27, 2023.

On the first day of the RHS Chelsea flower show 2023, on Monday, May 22, The United Kingdom’s Majesty King Charles III and Queen Camilla gave a visit to the Royal Horticultural Society to see the RHS Garden of Royal Reflection and Celebration, created to celebrate the King’s recent coronation and to remember the late Queen Elizabeth II.

At the RHS Flower Show, The RHS honoured and expressed gratitude to His Majesty King Charles III with the honorary Elizabeth Medal to recognise their commitment to championing horticulture.

The RHS society introduced the new Elizabeth Medal of Honour with the gracious consent of His Majesty King Charles III in perpetual remembrance of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s glorious reign.

Post the Event, the RHS United Kingdom also took to their social media and shared glimpses from the visit of Majesty King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

As per the sources, The mischievous Elizabeth Medal is also for British non-horticulturists, International non-horticulturists and horticulturists who have made a significant impact on the advancement of the science, art or practice of horticulture for the benefit of all generations and the environment. The Medal will be confined to 70 recipients at any time about the 70 years of Her Majesty’s reign, which was presented to Majesty King Charles III.

Some of the other Medal Recipients are the world-renowned garden designer Piet Oudolf, the Right Honourable Baroness Janet Fookes DBE and environmental champion Judy Ling Wong CBE.
