The MP shared that this funding will help to deliver a new full-size 3G football turf pitch, a new community clubhouse with changing facilities, and improvements to the infrastructure at their Cemetery Road site.

He also shared that this grant will enable Glossop North End Community Club, which has over 600 playing members, to train and play at its pitch and provide the Club with a new clubhouse. Both will represent significant improvements on the existing slope and changing room provision at Cemetery Road, which is prone to waterlogging and needs renovation.

MP Robert Largon also announced that the venue would be known as the Glossop Community Sports Hub. Once completed, the hub will also provide state-of-the-art sports and community facilities for grassroots leagues, sports groups and local community organisations, as well as a legacy for the area for years to come.

The Works will include the construction of a new floodlit 3G pitch and two-team changing pavilion, including enabling works, drainage, site access and car parking.

The Club injected £165k towards the scheme via its fund-raising initiatives, and significant contributions from Derbyshire County Council, Derbyshire County FA, High Peak Borough Council, Sporting Capital and Sport England further supported this.

AT last, MP Robert Largon shared that this is such brilliant news for Glossop and also expressed his pleasure and gratitude to everyone who helped him to let this project happen.
