UK: MP Robert Largan raises concern on labour party’s vote against Illegal Migration Bill

Date:

Member of Parliament for Highpeak constituency in the United Kingdom Robert Largan raised the concern over Labour Party, who again voted nine times against stopping the boats on the Illegal Migration Bill after voting 18 times last week in the Parliament.

As per the Update, the labour party has voted 18 times on the Illegal Migration Bill. He said, “Tonight has been another marathon session in the House of Commons, with MPs voting nine times in a row on the Illegal Migration Bill, after voting 18 times last week.”

Meanwhile, as per MP Robert Largan, the votes took place because Labour was again supporting wrecking amendments tabled by the House of Lords as part of their attempt to block the Illegal Migration Bill and the Government’s plan to stop the small boats.

Under the plans, anyone entering illegally will be detained immediately and removed to a safe country within weeks.

There would also be stricter enforcement with a new Small Boats Operational Command to crack down on criminal gangs.

On this, MP Robert said that the Labour Party are still fighting tooth and nail against these plans, just as they opposed the deportation of foreign convicted murderers and sex offenders.

“Labour has no plan to stop the boats. They have no desire to stop the boats,” he added.

Further, while raising his concern and highlighting the reasons mentioned above, MP Robert shared that he has been contributing with his efforts continuously to pass the bill and shared the news that the bill has taken a step closer to being passed into law.

” I’m working hard to pass the Illegal Migration Bill into law as soon as possible. Despite Labour’s efforts, the Government won all votes again tonight, and the bill has taken a step closer to being passed into law,” he added.
