United Kingdom: British Conservative Party Politician and Member of Parliament for Highpeak in the United Kingdom, Robert Largan, expressed his pleasure and gratitude to the Government of Highpeak for announcing a new lung cancer screening Programme, which would help save lives and cut down waiting lists.
While expressing his pleasure, the Member of Parliament for Highpeak in the United Kingdom, Robert Largan, took to his official social media handle to share some updates on the lung cancer Screening Programme, which is designed to catch cancer sooner and prevent it altogether, which will help save lives and cut waiting lists.
On the treatment and ailment of Cancer, MP Robert shared that the National Health Service has treated a record number of cancer patients over the last two years, with cancer being diagnosed at an earlier stage more often and survival rates improving across almost all types of cancer. Therefore the Government still wants to take some practical step against the cause and rightly want to go further.
As per the update, Under this new cancer screening programme, people aged 55-74 with a GP record, including smoking history, will be assessed and invited for lung cancer screenings. This programme is also expected to detect as many as 9,000 people with cancer each year, deliver almost one million scans and provide treatment earlier.
Further, MP Robert expressed that after successfully leading the campaign to reinstate mobile breast cancer screening, he is passionate about this cancer screening and also shared about campaigning to reinstate Buxton Colposcopy Clinic. He also expressed his pleasure and gratitude to the Government for taking the initiative to work for a cure for the disease. He urged that this programme is a helpful and positive step forward.
