British Conservative Party Politician and Member of Parliament for High Peak in the United Kingdom, Robert Largan, expressed his pleasure over the Council for being agreed to work on the traffic situation on the Dinting Road in the East Midlands region of England, which would be beneficial for the children, who cross the roads every day.
British Conservative Party Politician and Member of Parliament for High Peak in the United Kingdom, Robert Largan, while sharing his pleasure, took to his official social media handle today, Monday, June 12, 2023, and shared that, For several years, he’ve been campaigning for traffic calming on Dinting Road as since the relocation of Glossopdale School to Newshaw Lane, this stretch of Dinting Road has become very busy with children crossing on their walk to school.
MP Robert Largan shared that he has continuously raised concerns about this with the Council and often held site visits with residents and parents. He also highlighted some of the names on his social media handle for whom the Diniting Roads have been a big issue. He added, “I know that Dom Elliott-Starkey for Dinting and Jean Wharmby for Glossop and Charlesworth have also been concerned about Dinting Road.
Recently, our fears are well founded, with a pupil hospitalised after being hit by a vehicle.”
Further, while expressing his pleasure, he shared that now, the Council has agreed to take action with funding earmarked for a traffic light-controlled crossing and added that the Design work is already underway, with installation planned for the summer holidays.
Furthermore, MP Robert added, “Many parents and residents strongly feel that this stretch of road should be reduced from 40th to 30mph, given how many children cross here every day.”
At last, MP Robert shared that he would continue to raise this for local people and try his best to serve what’s better for his people.
