UK: MP Robert Largan expresses pleasure over anonymous funding to High Peak Districts

United Kingdom: British Conservative Party Politician and Member of Parliament for the High Peak in the United Kingdom, Robert Largan, expressed his pleasure and shared an update with the constituents that the visitor centres, including Castleton. Edale and Fairholmes will no longer have to face closure after an anonymous donor has offered to fund them.

British Conservative Party Politician and Member of Parliament for high peak Robert Largan took to his official social media handle on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, to express pleasure that the visitor centres no longer have to face closures by the efficient funding of an anonymous.

To keep the visitor Centers open for the local constituents from the High Peak districts, MP Robert Largan shared that he has held many meetings with the Peak District National Park Authorities over the last two months to keep the local visitor centres open.

Meanwhile, MP Robert has also informed the people that there are still a lot of long-term details to be worked out, but this is positive news, especially for the employees at the visitor centres to visit and explore more in the High Peak.

Further, he also shared many clear challenges to face for the approval of opening visitor centres in the Peak District. He shared that the National Park Authority has confirmed that their consultation on the future of the visitor centres “has been paused following an offer of operational funding support for up to three years”.

Furthermore, MP Robert has also shared that this problem shouldn’t take an anonymous generous benefactor to step in. There are clear challenges with how the National Park has been operating, which need to be addressed in the interests of all residents of the Peak District.
