British Conservative Party Politician and Member of Parliament in the United Kingdom Robbie Moore recently visited St John’s Church in Ben Rhydding and Christchurch in Ilkley and expressed his pleasure to meet with the members of the Church and also appreciated them for tackling the urgent issue of climate change and its impact on the communities around the world.
Post his visit, British Conservative Party Politician and Member of Parliament Robbie Moore shared an update on his social media handle to share about his visit to St John’s Church in Ben Rhydding and Christchurch in Ilkley and expressed his pleasure to meet with the members of the Church to learn more about Christian Aid’s Rise Up Pay Up campaign and also thanked them, especially for their commitment to tackling the urgent issue of climate change and the impact this has on communities around the world. MP Robbie Moore also shared a picture of meeting the members of the Church to learn and support their Rise Up Pay Up campaign.
MP Robbie Moore shared that The paper prayer people of the church display serves as a powerful reminder of the devastating impact climate change can have on the lives of so many, mainly due to extreme weather events occurring across the globe due to climate change.
Emphasising his deep concern over the climatic factors, MP Robbie Moore shared that it is deeply concerning that community, particularly those who have contributed the least to climate change, are being burdened with the costs of rebuilding after climate disasters, whilst countries like China, responsible for more than 27% of total global emissions, take a back seat.
Further, MP Robbie expressed his pleasure to the member of the Church and especially thanked them again for their tireless efforts on this issue and for thanking him for joining them to talk through the Rise Up Pay Up campaign.
