Australian Politician and Member of Parliament in Australia, David Smith took to his official social media handle recently to express his pleasure and appreciation to the government of Australia after announcing 187 projects funded with $200 million investment from Round One of the signature Disaster Ready Fund on Wednesday, June 7, 2023.

MP David Smith, who is also the Member of Bean, along with the updates on the Australian government’s Signature Disaster Project, also shared a picture on his social media handle, announcing the total investment of $ 350,000 into the Tidbinbilla natural reserve project.

With the Announcement of the 187 projects funded with a $200 million investment from the Australian Government’s Signature Disaster Fund, MP David Smith shared that Australia’s economy would benefit and be protected and prepared for future natural disasters. As per the Australian Government’s Signature Disaster Fund efficiency, MP David expressed his appreciation to the government of Australia for undertaking several initiatives to protect the territory from certain unexpected disasters and threats across the Australian Capital Territory.

Furthermore, MP David also reviewed the 2019-20 ACT Bushfires and also established the need for a 10km dual-purpose walking track/fire access line, and shared that the ridgeline is suitable for managing high-risk threats to Tidbinbilla’s ecological and cultural values, including fire, invasive species and weeds. This is already a backcountry walking route and could easily be formalised into a strategic track with helipads, locations for water buoys and safe, well-defined exit routes.
