UK: British Conservative Party Politician and Member of Parliament in the United Kingdom Andrew Stephenson shares some updates on the shortage of supply of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) Products for women going through Menopause last year and addressed that the Government is trying all their efforts possible in amendments of rules for the HRT Products.
British Conservative Party Politician and Member of Parliament in the United Kingdom Andrew Stephenson, who has also been serving as the Commissioner of Treasury Since 2022, while addressing the issue of the shortage of Hormone Replacement Therapy Products took too his official social media handle to share his concern over the matter and also shared some of the updates regarding the availability of the medicine.
On his official Facebook handle, MP Andrew added, “I know many Pendle residents were worried about a potential supply shortage of HRT (hormone replacement therapy) products last year. These are hugely important for women going through Menopause, and I shared the concerns of those who wanted to be sure there would be no disruption to their availability.”
Further, he also expressed his pleasure in receiving updates from the Government regarding the situation. He shared that the Government is trying all their efforts to provide the medicine and is also actively involved in the engagement with the supply chain and changes to the rules about what medications can be exported, as well as a crackdown on hoarding by wholesalers.
Furthermore, MP Andrew also shared that have been 22 protocols introduced since last year to manage shortages that have primarily been lifted as the situation improved, with only two still in place today. One is for Utrogestan, where there are still problems, and also shared that the situation is much better than it was last year, and Ministers are keeping their close eye to make sure that remains the case.
At last, MP Andrew shared his hope that this update is reassuring for those women potentially affected by any shortages in HRT.
