UK govt to face consequences from India following Tricolour incident: REPORTS

Date:

UK: The indifference of the British Government to pulling down the Indian national flag has outraged the highest levels in New Delhi, India following which the United Kingdom may have to face the consequences. The incident occurred despite the Indian Government informing the Whitehall & MI-5 about the planned Sikh extremist protests.

On Sunday, the Khalistan separatists pulled down the national flag atop the Indian High Commission, and the “indifference” caused by the British system towards the diplomatic premises’ security has been seen as an ‘action-forcing event’ by the Indian Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will have consequences far beyond the diplomatic protest lodged by New Delhi.

The Modi government wants the UK government to act at their lowest against the wrongdoers, and there are severe discussions at the top levels of the government on how to make the United Kingdom government more accountable and responsive to Indian security concerns in Britain.

The man who was behind the protest that occurred on Sunday has been identified as UK-based asylum seeker Avtar Singh Khanda. His father, Kulwant Singh Khukrana, was a terrorist of the Khalistan Liberation Force and is said to supply funds via Gurmit Singh Bukanwala. Khanda got radical Sikh students in the UK to organise the Sunday protest.

The Modi government is silent over what action would be taken after the recent aggravation. The Indian government read the riot act to the UK diplomat called to the Ministry of External Affairs on Sunday evening.

A similar protest will be lodged by the Indian High Commissioner in London on Monday evening with a direct message to the denizens of White Hall. The Modi government is concerned over the lack of security for the Indian Embassy and its staff despite various threats from the minuscule Sikh extremists based in the UK.

Furthermore, the government of India is watching how the Rishi Sunak government reacts to another anti-India protest planned by a proscribed “Sikhs For Justice” group in their country on March 22.
