United Kingdom: The Non-Profit and Charity Organisation dedicated to saving lives through research, Cancer Research UK, recently shared the story of Bettina, dealing with stage 1 of Breast Cancer. She has been treated well successfully and is working with the organisation.
Cancer Research UK is the World’s largest Independent Cancer Research Organisation. It has also been registered as a Charitable Organisation in the United Kingdom. The Organisation deals, researches and supports all aspects of Cancer with a committed team of over 4000 scientists, doctors and researchers.
The Cancer Research UK, while addressing Cancer, noted, “Without the voice and experiences of all people affected by Cancer, the whole story isn’t told.”
Further, they also throw light on Bettina’s Story. As per the information obtained, Bettina was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer after a mammogram revealed a pea-sized tumour in her right breast.
Thankfully, the Cancer had been caught early, and she was successfully treated.
Bettina, while uncovering her story with Cancer Research UK, has made several revelations.
“When I was diagnosed, there were very few pictures or articles about the impact of Cancer on people from my background. I wanted to understand more about why this was and to be able to speak about it within my community.” She shared
After seeing an advert to join the Cancer Insights Panel, Bettina began working with Cancer Research UK.
She said: “I joined because I wanted to make a difference. I’m not afraid to ask uncomfortable questions about who looks like me and who speaks for me in the Organisation. I’m looking forward to continuing to help address health inequalities in Cancer.”
The Cancer Research UK extended their pleasure and thanked Bettina for sharing her story. “As we celebrate #BlackHistoryMonth. Together, we are beating Cancer #SalutingOurSisters #WeMatter,” they added.
