Ilonka Venier Alexander also shared some glimpses from her home, including its beautiful and lavish entrance, a garden area, and substantial evergreen bounties surrounding it. She titled her post with ‘Before After’ and shared some information about her house in context with its history.
UK-based Ilonka Venier shared that she and her husband brought the house in the fall of 2006. When they brought it, it was white and had no garden area of distinction. She shared that this house was a hotel built more than a century ago, in 1861.
In 2010, Ilonlka Venier Alexander and her husband renovated and restored her house as a Heritage Property. The house is located in SW Nova Scotia. Ilonka shared that she and her husband designed a beautiful garden and planted various plants and flowers in it. Ilonka shared that she and her husband built fences and arbours in their garden together. They dragged bricks from two dismantled chimneys during the renovations, made a walkway, and planted and tended the gardens. Ilonka shared that she submitted these pictures as taking them of their house along the process of change is so important to keep its memories always alive.
She shared that she did not do that outside. She only has the photos of the now-garden, which she also shared on her social media. She shared that she hopes people enjoy them. The house is painted using Benjamin Moore Raspberry Truffle, and the doors are Tropicana Cabana. Their home is in the lower right corner of an old postcard photo.
