The United Kingdom-based Volunteer-led Community identified as Swell Portrush introduced their three creative and most talented Volunteers, Alice, Kate and Oliver. The Swell recognised their efforts in various activities like Music, storytelling and Sketching and honoured them for their work.
Reportedly, the Swell Portrush is a United Kingdom-based festival-hosting company that hosts event festivals with diverse activities, including Arts and crafts, Circus, well-being, Poetry, Singing, Dancing, etc.
Recently, the Swell Portrush have honoured their three volunteers. They marked their contributions and appreciated them for their enthusiasm and highly creative talent.

Alice
An Illustrator/Artist best known for her enchanting sketches capturing a magical and happy childhood and her illustrations in “Dee The Little Lifeboat”, a book about sea safety written by local Dr Martin O’Kane and raising funds for Portrush Lifeboat.
Her work also includes a recently unveiled mural at PYC, Portrush has recorded stories for TV and radio. She has told stories at festivals and events from Cork to Cushendall and has worked with young people and senior citizens in various schools and residences. She has a particular interest in local stories and folklore.
About Kate:
Kate Murphy is a local storyteller who has recorded stories for TV and radio. She has told stories at festivals and events from Cork to Cushendall and has worked with young people and senior citizens in various schools and residences. She has a particular interest in local stories and folklore.
About Oliver:
Oliver is a music therapist and multi-instrumentalist based on the North Coast. He is passionate about the ocean, the community, and the stories that weave us together.
Oliver has extensive experience working with Music and mental health and has worked with several organisations across the UK, including St. Columba’s Hospice and REACH Portrush. When he’s not performing, Oliver can be found in the water with The Wave Project NI or singing with Coastal Vocals.
Further, the Swell Portrush also urged people to Let their imagination spill onto the canvas as a story unfolds through the words of gifted storyteller Kate and improvised sounds from musician Oliver.
“Create a wonderful mural montage of ideas and images under the guidance of local artist Alice,” Swell further quoted.
They also urged people to share this unique experience and become part of their story.
“There is no age limit, and the event will encourage the creative child within all of us to participate – or enjoy the stories,” they added.
This is a free drop-in event from 3.00 -5.00 pm in the Gallery at the Arcadia Portrush on Friday, 29th Sept. Also, All materials will be supplied, or perhaps bring an apron if you are a messy painter.
