United Kingdom: A Charity Organisation named Stonewall are excited to launch the Ace in the UK Report with Yasmin Benoit this week. The Ace in the UK report unveiled specific facts that Ace people face in the UK. The report also includes some practical recommendations for change.
Reportedly, the Stonewall organisation campaigns for the equality of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people across Britain and abroad. The Organisation aims to remove discrimination on the societal level.
Recently, the Stonewall launched its latest Ace in the UK Report. The
the report uncovers the shocking experiences of healthcare, workplace and societal discrimination that ace people face in the UK and the need for better legal and policy protections.
The report reveals the alarming lack of understanding that ace people face throughout society. It also mentioned the effect on their ability to go about their daily lives, whether at work, with friends and family, or when accessing healthcare services.
Further, the Stonewall Organisation also include some recommended changes in society to improve the situation of Ace People in the United Kingdom.
- Ending the WHO’s classification of asexuality as a mental health condition, including ace people in the Statutory Guidance for the 2010 Equality Act.
- improving training in healthcare settings
- protecting ace people from conversion practices
The Organisation also extended its hope that this project will improve awareness of the fundamental challenges Ace people face.
They also urged the political leaders to adopt the recommendations to support Ace people better to meet their basic needs and thrive as themselves.
