St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew met the newly elected Speaker of the House of Commons in Canada, Greg Fergus. The meeting was based on strengthening bilateral cooperation and effective collaboration in several sectors.
As per the Update, The elected Speaker, Greg Fergus, is also the black speaker. He has been in pride Speakeran heritage as his mom is Jamaican and his father is from Montserrat.
The meeting focused on areas of opportunity for closer bilateral cooperation between Saint Kitts and Nevis and Canada. It was also based on enhancing increased investment opportunities in green technology, renewable energy, and water and food security.
The gift presented to Speake Greg Fergus was taken by renowned photographer and son of the soil Professor Taubattice.
Prime Minister Dr Terrance extended his pleasure from the meeting. He wished Greg all the best in his endeavours.
“I look forward to closer collaboration between our nations,” he asserted.
Notably, Their meeting marked a significant moment for St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew, who met with Greg Fergus MP, Speaker of the House in Canada.
Several delegations from the Ministry and Government of St Kitts and Nevis also accompanied Prime Minister Dr Terrance. Minister of Foreign Affairs Denzil Douglas and Ambassador to CARICOM Lary Vaughan attended the meeting.
They congratulated Greg, who traced his heritage to the Caribbean, with roots in Jamaica and Montserrat.
