Scotland, South Ayrshire: In a distressing incident that has shocked the local community, a memorial bench honouring the late Alan Kennedy was vandalized today at Belleisle Golf Course. The incident has left the Kennedy family deeply saddened and seeking justice.

The bench on the path overlooking the first tee at Belleisle has held sentimental value for the family since Alan Kennedy’s tragic death in a car crash in 2005. The vandalism, which occurred on Sunday, June 4th, has caused great distress and upset to the grieving family.

A photograph of the vandalized bench has been shared, highlighting the extent of the damage inflicted upon it. Recognizing the seriousness of the incident, the family promptly reported the matter to Police Scotland, providing them with the incident reference number PS-20230604-3943.

In an effort to gather any relevant information, they urge the public to come forward with any details that might help identify the culprits responsible for this act of vandalism.

Eyewitnesses from the golf course have already shared crucial information with the authorities. Around 6 p.m. on the day of the incident, a large group of youths was spotted within Belleisle, prompting concerns that they might be linked to the vandalism.

The golfers who witnessed this group have shared their observations with the police, hoping it will aid in their investigation.

Alan Kennedy, the family’s late father, was a passionate golfer and a beloved member of Belleisle Golf Course for many years. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family members, including his son Stephen Kennedy, who remains an active golf club member.

The police officials and the deceased’s family members are asking if anyone can help contact Police Scotland in confidence, quoting incident number PS-20230604-3943.

Several social media users condemned the incident and said they were deeply hurt to see this nuisance in Belleisle.

“Disgusting! Young ones today have no respect just hope they are found and severely dealt with! So sorry for this family. They don’t deserve to see that,” wrote a user named Elaine Foster.

“Absolute scumbags hope they get caught and punished for what they’ve done,” wrote another user named Violet Ferguson.
