Saint Lucia: Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre announced the grant financing of $18.5 million from the Taiwanese government by the Constituency Development Programme of Saint Lucia and expressed his gratitude to the Taiwanese government for their continuous support of Saint Lucia

Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre reached out to his social media handle recently. He shared that The Constituency Development Programme will continue through grant financing of $18.5 million from the Taiwanese government in Saint Lucia.

The Constituency Development Programme is working to improve the livelihoods of Saint Lucians by constructing, rehabilitating and maintaining infrastructural facilities across all communities in Saint Lucia, working with the help of the Taiwanese government since 2007. The CDP Saint Lucia works to improvise various problems, including projects like flood mitigation, drainage, soil stabilization, community access roads, and school facilities at the gross level.

The Prime Minister shared that the CDP will continue to grant finances to serve the people of Saint Lucia in the future. He also shared that in an attempt to serve the constituents of the Saint Lucia Parliament, he will provide all 17 constituencies to them through the Elected members of the Saint Lucia Parliament.

At last, The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude and thanked the Taiwanese government and the Taiwan government for their continuous efforts in supporting the Saint Lucians.

Reportedly, The Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Equity of Saint Lucia Irene Gaspard has recently expressed his sincere thanks to the Taiwanese government for their timely supplies. He stated that the donation would assist the Ministry of Equity in helping the most vulnerable and differently-abled in society.

The Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs Minister of Saint Lucia, Hon. Moses Jn. Baptiste has also conveyed thanks and expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Saint Lucia government for the Taiwanese government’s kind and significant gesture.
