Saint Lucia: Government increases cost of LPGs 100lb Cylinders, Bulk by 10%

The Government of Saint Lucia announced changes in the pricing of International fuels, including LPG 100lb Cylinder and Bulk (Wholesale) LPG, on Monday.

As per the information, the prices of LPG cylinders 100lb have increased from being subsidised at $264.84 to $274.38 per cylinder. Meanwhile, the bulk LPG cylinders are increased from $2.52 per pound to $2.61 per pound. 

However, The retail price of Gasoline, Diesel, Kerosene, and the LPG 20 lb and 22 lb cylinders will remain unchanged. As per the Government, these modifications have been made in keeping with changes in international oil prices and the Government’s application of the modified market pass-through petroleum pricing mechanism. 

These changes will come into effect from Monday, February 12th, 2024.

Here are the changes in the pricing of International fuels in Saint Lucia:

• 100 Pound Cylinder (45.36kg) increased from $264.84 to $274.38 per cylinder.
• Bulk (Wholesale) LPG increased from $2.52 per pound to $2.61 per pound.
• Gasoline remains unchanged at $3.63 per litre or $16.50 per gallon.
• Diesel remains unchanged at $3.63 per litre or $16.50 per gallon.
• Kerosene remains unchanged at $2.58 per litre or $11.72 per gallon.
• The 20 lb Cylinder (9.07kg) is being subsidised at $18.88 per cylinder 
• The 22 lb cylinder (9.98kg) is subsidised at $20.76 per cylinder.
• 20 Pound Cylinder (9.07 kg) remains unchanged at $36.00 per cylinder.
• 22 Pound Cylinder (9.98 kg) remains unchanged at $39.60 per cylinder.

Earlier in January 2024, the Government decreased the fuel prices on the LPG cylinders. The new prices were implemented on LPG cylinders from 20 Pound Cylinder, 22 Pound Cylinder, 100 Pound Cylinder and Bulk (Wholesale) LPG. The 20 lb Cylinder (9.07kg) was subsidised at $16.97 per cylinder, and the 22 lb cylinder (9.98kg) was subsidised at $18.66 per cylinder.

Here’s the list of Prices changed in Saint Lucia January 2024:

• 20 Pound Cylinder (9.07 kg) decreased from $39.30 to $36.00 per cylinder.
• 22 Pound Cylinder (9.98 kg) decreased from $43.22 to $39.60 per cylinder.
• 100 Pound Cylinder (45.36kg) decreased from $279.68 to $264.84 per cylinder.
• Bulk (Wholesale) LPG decreased from $2.67 per pound to $2.52 per pound.
