Saint Lucia Deputy PM Ernest Hilaire shares details of ‘Word In Altered Scale’ event

Saint Lucia: The Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Ernest Hilaire, shared the details of the ‘Word In Altered Scale’ event to be held as part of the Art and the City on Monday, May 8, 2023. The Art and the City event is scheduled to be held from May 7 to May 11, 2023. 

The Word In Altered Scale will be two nights of an eclectic mix of spoken word/poetry and music event. It will feature young up-and-coming Saint Lucian poets and Saint Lucia’s very own Arts & Letters 2010 Laureate, Martiniquan Poet Black Kalagan and Trinidadian Female Poet Zakiya Gill.

Ernest Hilaire shared that the event will be held from Monday, May 8, 2023, to Tuesday, May 8, at Pointe Seraphine, and the entry for the same is XCD $40 or USD $15. 

Also, the Cultural Development Foundation invited the citizens to be present at the event and said, “Saint Lucians are gifted in all forms of the Art. One underestimated way to show our appreciation to the creators is to be present.”

The CDF added that the country would be celebrating World Art Day, for which they invited everyone to partake in the Art and the City event from May 7 to 11.

Sign up for Art Square – Visual Exhibition https://www.cdfstlucia.org/call-for-artists-art-and-the…/ Artisans, crafters, designers, and there is still time to sign up for the Craft and Souvenir Market,” added the CDF. 

The Craft and Souvenir Market will be held from May 11th – 12th, 2023, at Rodney Bay Strip from 10 am onwards. The CDF invited people to attend and said, “Want to remember the festival experience? Stop by the Craft and Souvenir market, a creative space exhibiting authentic Saint Lucian products, visual Art, fashion, craft and more.”
