MP Robbie Moore visits Keighley Train Station

United Kingdom: Member of Parliament for Keighley in West Yorkshire, Robbie Moore, is thrilled to announce the plans to refurbish Keighley Train Station are formally submitted to the Parliament after numerous attempts and meetings with Network Rail and Northern and his repeated calls in the Parliament.

To share the news and express his pleasure to the government for undertaking the matter of refurbishment of Keighley Railway Station in the Parliament, the member of Parliament for Keighley in West Yorkshire, United Kingdom, Robbie Moore, a British Conservative Party Politician. He took to his official social media handle yesterday, Wednesday, June 21, 2023.

 MP Robbie added on his official Facebook handle, “After years of lobbying, numerous meetings with Network Rail and Northern and my repeated calls in Parliament, I am thrilled to announce that plans for the much-needed renovation of Keighley Station have finally been formally submitted!”

 As per the Update shared, The project will see the refurbishment of the main station buildings, the strengthening of footbridges over rail lines, and repairs to the bridge over the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway line, with the project expected to extend the lifespan of the bridge by more than 30 years.

Replica Georgian glazing will also be installed, vastly improving the look of the building and preserving the station’s historical character

 Enhanced station roof drainage systems will also prevent water ingress, reducing the need for frequent interventions and safeguarding the station against future damage.

Further, MP Robbie highlights some fantastic facts about Keighley Station and its colossal expansion over the years: “Keighley Station holds immense historical and cultural significance for our town. It serves as a vital transportation hub for our community. It is, therefore, fantastic to see progress on the station getting the upgrade it needs, which will no doubt secure the station long into the future.”

Furthermore, he also talked about continuing to monitor closely of the project and holding Network Rail to account to ensure the timely completion of vital refurbishments of the Keighley Railway Station.

Reportedly, Back in January 2023, MP Robbie Moore met with Network Rail and Northern on-site to discuss these issues before taking this issue to Parliament, where Leader of the House of Commons Penny Mordaunt, to whom he’s grateful as he, helped him raise the matter directly with the Secretary of State for Transport.
