Cramlington, United Kingdom:Â The Firefighters from the Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service excelled at the United Kingdom Rescue Organisation (UKRO) 2023 Festival of Rescue held between Thursday, Sept 14 and Saturday, Sept 16, 2023, in Lincolnshire.
The Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service is the Statutory body and a public safety company based out of West Hartford Community Fire Station, Cramlington, United Kingdom.
​Recently, On marking the excellent performances, the Northumberland Fire and Rescue Services extended their pride and congratulated all the firefighters.Â
Firefighters from all across the United Kingdom and worldwide descended on Lincolnshire. Their aim was to compete against each other and to be crowned the best in one of the various rescue challenges.
During the United Kingdom Rescue Organisation (UKRO) 2023 festivals, Visitors, residents, friends, family and colleagues all cheer from the sidelines as teams tackle the intense challenges put before them from the following categories:
The Vehicle Extrication Challenge
The Heavy Vehicle Rescue Challenge
The Trauma Care Challenge
The Water Rescue Challenge
The Rope Rescue Challenge
These challenging events placed teams in realistic scenarios that showcase what the Northumberland firefighters often face and respond to regularly.Â
The challenges are also a chance for firefighters to share innovative techniques, test new equipment and gain invaluable learning and development opportunities.Â
Firefighters from Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service took part in the vehicle extrication, heavy vehicle rescue, trauma care, and water rescue challenges.Â
Over the weekend, all of the Northumberland teams performed exceptionally well, and the assessors commended them for their teamwork, determination and professionalism.
The teams picked up the following awards:
- Best overall Water Rescue Team
- Best overall Incident Commander for Water Rescue
- 2nd place for the best helm of a boat
- 2nd place overall in the Heavy Vehicle Rescue Challenge
While sharing these achievements, the Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service seemed pleasured and proud. They also urged people to join them in congratulating everyone from Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service for this monumental effort.Â
They also hugely thanked everyone involved, “we’re all so proud of everyone who attended on behalf of NFRS”, they asserted.Â
