Keighley, UK: The British Conservative Party Politician and Member of Parliament for Keighley Constituency in the UK, Robbie Moore, was delighted to announce securing £1 million of funding for the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway under the Conservative Government’s Community Ownership Fund.

As per the Member of Parliament for Keighley, Robbie Moore, this is the most excellent news for the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway. He also shared that this has been the most significant investment for any UK project.

This funding will be efficiently used to undertake some practical changes in the Keighley and Worth Vally Railway and make an efficient system, especially for the daily commuters from the local areas.

MP Robbie also highlighted that behind this project, a lot of planning and hard work has gone into Keighley & Worth Valley’s Railway’s bid for funding.

“I was so proud to champion this bid with Ministers at the Department for Levelling Up and Communities and in Parliament,” he added.

MP Robbie shared that this funding will allow KWVR to complete the much-needed rebuild of Bridge 27 at Haworth.

The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway was built in 1867 and partially reconstructed in 1889. Bridge 27 had reached the end of its useful life.

Further, MP Robbie also shared that the Closure of the Railway station would have meant cutting the railway line in half, causing enormous social and economic impacts on the area.

He added that this is another massive win for Keighley this year and secures our iconic Keighley & Worth Valley Railway – which contributes more than £15 million per year to the area – long into the future.

In conclusion, the MP also ensured that this won’t stop here. Yet another long-term step from the government focusing on protecting the Keighley town’s heritage will occur.
