A Funeral has been held for the man who was fatally stabbed outside a bar last Sunday in Greater Manchester.
The thirty-one-year-old man, Rico Burton, a cousin of heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Furry was one of the two people attacked outside a bar in the Goose Green area of Altrincham.
Police described this attack as a “senseless attack.” A funeral was organized, and mourners arrived on trailers and in a horse-drawn carriage ahead of the service held in memory of Rico Burton at St Michael’s Church in Flixton.
Mourners wore the T-shirts named ‘BOYO’ with his pictures on them. A floral arrangement spelling out Mr Burton’s name and ‘BOYO’ was also seen during the funeral.
After the death of Rico burton due to severe injuries from stabbing, Rico’s cousin, heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Furry shared the sad news on his Instagram account and informed people about the funeral.
The heavyweight boxing champion used social media platforms to plea for an end to the Knife crime, saying that this needs to stop.
Sharing an Instagram post, he wrote, “Life is precious, and it can be taken away very quickly. Enjoy every moment. RIP Rico Burton. May the Lord God grant you a good place in heaven. See you soon.”
Twenty-one-year-old Liam O’Prey is accused of Rico Burton’s murder and is also charged with the malicious wounding of a teenager, a knife and possession of cocaine.
At Manchester Crown Court last Friday, He appeared through a video link from custody for a brief hearing and has been remanded into custody.
Greater Manchester Police informed that the other person injured in the attack, a 17-year-old boy, received life-saving treatment from public members at the scene.
