Friends fans might be thoroughly excited as they await an upcoming reunion special. But a recent clip released by People magazine featuring interviews with the cast has fans anxious for Matthew Perry. In the video, Perry, 51, is seated beside Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer, staring off vacantly.
So none told the cast of Friends their reunion was going to be this kind. The world’s a mess; we are all stressed, and, according to Jimmy Kimmel, network television is DOA. But like in the ’90s, Monica, Rachel, Ross, Chandler, Phoebe, and Joey are there for you. After a year-long COVID-caused delay, the Friends reunion special is ready to be streamed on HBO Max beginning May 27. WarnerMedia released the first trailer for the get-together following their upfront extravaganza, which teased early looks at James Gunn’s Peacemaker television series starring John Cena & Sarah Jessica Parker’s eagerly-anticipated Sex and the City revival.
Conversing with People magazine, Jennifer Aniston described the intense feelings of meeting up with her old pals — Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer over a quarter-century of the show’s 1994 debut. “Oh God, how’re we going to get through this alive, without just crying our faces off?” she recalls thinking. And the trailer unveils that the cast’s tears flow early and frequently throughout the special. Walking around the reconstructed set of Monica’s apartment, Aniston immediately asks, “Where’s the tissue box?”
Seeing Matthew Perry Feels Sad
One fan replied to that clip, “It pains me to see Matthew Perry like this; he just seems off, gazing at the void, speaking slowly.” “Just saw People interview and cannot believe how Matthew Perry looks like, it breaks my heart,” another one tweeted.
The actor has long been open about his struggles with addiction.
