Foreign delegates laud India’s G-20 presidency and hospitality

Foreign delegates attending the Employment Working Group Meeting in Guwahati, under India’s G-20 presidency, have praised the hospitality and warm welcome received by the Indian government and people.

The three-day meeting started on April 3 and will end on April 5. Delegates, who were from G-20 nations, expressed their gratitude towards the Indian government for the warmth and friendliness that they experienced in the country.

Ali Aybey, the Republic of Turkey’s Deputy Director General for Foreign Relations at the Ministry of Labor, said, “I want to express my gratitude to the Indian people and government for their welcoming hospitality. We received a warm welcome everywhere we went, but Assam’s Guwahati was especially welcoming.

The people of Assam are incredibly cordial and helpful. I sincerely appreciate it.” Aybey emphasized the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the labour market, the skills gap, and labour relations.

Jordi Curell Gotor of the European Union remarked that India is a very different country, but the hospitality and warmth of the people are the same. Gotor added that COVID-19 had accelerated many changes, such as digitalization and platform work, which the Indian presidency has put on the table for discussion.

Chinese delegate Rui Mu said he was happy to contribute to India’s G-20 presidency and was touched by the warm reception. Mu mentioned how staff at the New Delhi Airport took the delegates to another terminal and helped them get onto the plane to Guwahati, despite their late arrival.

The foreign delegates appreciated the Indian government and people for their warm hospitality and the opportunity to participate in the Employment Working Group Meeting under India’s G-20 presidency.
