According to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there’s so much celebration in terms of the coronavirus pandemic. As of the 30th of April, 101.4M people in the United States are thoroughly vaccinated. That is nearly half of the community. Though any states are the exception, coronavirus cases have not been this sick nationwide since October 2020, as NPR details. The trend has emerged newly in recent weeks: The percentage of which people are getting shot is slowing down. According to a Wall Street Journal analysis of CDC data, the U.S. delivered about 2.8M coronavirus vaccines a day during the last 7 days, down from an average of about 3.2M each day.
Epidemiologist Michael Osterholm, Ph.D., director of the University of Minnesota Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy, recently told his matters about the vaccination percentage. On the 29th of April event of his Osterholm Update podcast, the contagious disease expert declared states with higher fresh case proportions and lower vaccination rates need to “be vigilant” at this moment.
Clearly, Osterholm aimed out fourteen states that must be on the outlook. For a better perception of how these vaccination rates differ in these states, we looked to Becker’s Hospital Review (BHR), which determined the portion of people in all states individually who have been vaccinated, using the CDC’s vaccine tracking data as of last day of the previous month. Then, we looked at coronavirus Act Now’s U.S. COVID Risk & Vaccine Tracker to organize new case rates on the fourteen states Osterholm is worried about as of 30th April too. We have even included COVID Act Now’s vulnerability level for every state a few of which match Osterholm’s concern, whereas others don’t.
