The Member of Parliament for the Stoke on Trent South Constituency in the United Kingdom, Jack Brereton, is pleasured to announce that the East Midlands Railway will be finally restoring additional services through Longton, Blythe Bridge and Stoke Station from December this year, 2023.
After hearing numerous complaints and disappointments at the reduced services on the Crew to Derby/Nottingham line, the East Midlands Railways are finally announced to be reinstated.
While extending his pleasure and gratitude, MP Jack Brereton added, “I am pleased to share that East Midlands Railway will be restoring additional services through Longton, Blythe Bridge and Stoke Station from December this year.”
As per the reports said, MP Jack has repeatedly stressed the need to improve local public transport for North Staffordshire in meetings with The Department for Transport and EMR.
Further, he also ensured that he would continue working with them and parliamentary colleagues to look at how we can further develop local rail services to make it easier for people to get around and access better job and skills opportunities.
Furthermore, MP Jack also shared a notice from the Managing Director of the East Midland Railways, Will Rogers, who was pleased to write him today to confirm service changes within the December 2023 timetable.
“I understand that there have been aspirations from constituents, partners and stakeholders for services to be increased from their current position on the North Staffordshire Line, and it has been our shared aspiration to see improvements.” Will Rogers said.
On his notice, the Managing Director, Will Rogers, also mentioned that EMR and the rail industry have continued to react to the changing railway landscape post-covid and, when considering timetable changes, have looked at several factors, including the allocation of necessary funding, maintaining levels of performance (punctuality) and operational feasibility.
