Dominica: Sherman receives highest vote in Roseau city elections
The electoral office of the Commonwealth of Dominica on Friday, February 10, 2023, announced the final results of the Roseau City Council elections, which were held on Wednesday, February 8. Electors in the Roseau Area cast their ballots to select two individuals each for Wards II, III, and IV to serve on the Roseau City Council.
The electoral office announced that the final counting of ballots was conducted on Thursday at the designated locations, following which the results were announced as follows:
Ward 2
Ward 3
Ward 4
Ericson Romain and Rhoda St John were elected in Ward II, Sherika Winston and Michael Anthony Moreau were elected by voters in Ward III, while Sherman Hartford Boston and Marilia Vernicia Adams were elected in Ward IV.
Furthermore, the voter turnout in Ward II was 355 persons or 7.61%, 140 persons or 5.50% in Ward III and 445 persons or 8.96% in Ward IV.

The individuals who have been elected in Wards II, III, and IV will now, together with Sandra Ermine Royer and Ken George, constitute the eight persons elected to the council. Royer and George were declared duly elected during the closing of nominations for Ward I. Furthermore, Ward I comprises Newton, Citronier, Kings Hill, Elmshall, The Morne (Morne Bruce), the High Street & Turkey Lane area and Fortune.
Notably, the Roseau City Council comprises thirteen individuals, eight of whom were elected and five nominated by the Minister of Local Government.
