Dominica: PM Roosevelt Skerrit invites attendants to Giraudel/Eggleston Flower Show, shares glimpses

The Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica has started the Giraudel-Eggleston Flower Show and Market Fair in the country’s capital, Roseau. The theme for the 2023 edition of the event was “50 Years and Still Blooming.” The prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, took to his social media account to share some glimpses of the event.

He also took the opportunity to share that he was present at the 50-year celebration of the Giraudel/Eggleston Flower Show and Market Fair. He shared glimpses of his visit to the event with the words, “The Giraudel/Eggleston Flower Show and Market Fair opened on Saturday under the theme, “50 Years and Still Blooming.”

The prime Minister invited the people of the Commonwealth of Dominica to attend the “Giraudel/Eggleston Flower Show and Market Fair. The event, which started on Saturday, May 27, 2023, will run for four days and conclude on May 30, 2023. Per the update shared by Prime Minister Dr Skerrit, the event will be held from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM Daily.

It is worth mentioning that Giraudel/Eggleston Flower Show and Market Fair is a joint collaborative effort of the Giraudel-Eggleston Flower Growers Group and the Ministry of Tourism in the government of the Commonwealth of Dominica. The flower show and market fair is an annual event. The Giraudel-Eggleston Flower Growers Group has been hosting it for five decades.

The annual tradition of the Giraudel-Eggleston Flower Growers Group has garnered renown and recognition among the people of Dominica. The exotic floral displays, landscaping and gardening have a fanbase among the people. The event also features a retail exhibition of the flower harvest for the people. The Giraudel/Eggleston Flower Show and Market Fair attendants will be able to buy the flowers produced for the fair.

The 2023 edition of the festival intends to attract flower and plant enthusiasts. The Prime Minister, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, also interacted with the flower show and market fair stakeholders. The fair will attract a source of income for the stakeholders of the event.
