Dominica: Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and other leaders of Dominica joined the world to celebrate Mother’s Day. On behalf of the Government of Dominica, PM Skerrit wished all the mothers on this special occasion and wished long life for them.
While extending his wishes to all the others around the island, PM Roosevelt Skerrit said, “I pay homage to all mothers across Dominica for your selfless love and exceptional strength, which have sustained our families and communities.”
He said that the government celebrates them today and always for the care and nurturing of Dominica’s children and their immeasurable contribution towards the nation.
Meanwhile, Housing Minister and parliamentary representative of Roseau Central, Melissa Skerrit, made a warm gesture on the eve of Mother’s Day as she sent out her team members to deliver treat bags and invitations to all the wonderful mothers of Roseau Central. The invitation was sent to invite them to dinner on Sunday.
While sharing pictures with her kids, Melissa Skerrit said that a mother’s love is unconditional and everlasting. She added, “Not every moment is picture perfect, but these are often the moments most worth it. Happy Mother’s Day to all Moms today.”
The Tourism Minister and representative of Soufriere Constituency, Denise Charles, also took to Facebook to wish all the Dominican mothers on this special occasion. While wishing all the mothers, she said, “Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mothers in the Soufriere Constituency, Dominica, and around the globe.”
The Minister added that this special occasion honours mothers’ unconditional love, sacrifices, and unwavering support. “We are fortunate to have such incredible women in our life,” outlined Denise Charles.
She said that she spent her day visiting the elderly and differently-abled mothers in her constituency, and seeing their smiles and gratitude warmed her heart. Furthermore, the Minister thanked Jollys Pharmacy Ltd, Coulibri Ridge, Sister Nat, and Starrin & Sons for partnering with her to deliver the baskets of love.
Minister Charles also hosted special events in Soufriere and Pointe Michel, where she invited all the mothers to have fun.
