The Housing Minister of Dominica, Melissa Skerrit, visited the students from her National Assessment Champions class who will be sitting exams to give a pep talk and provide supplies required for the exams along with a few treats. Minister Skerrit encouraged students and wished them luck for their upcoming exams.
Melissa Skerrit said that she feels proud to say that since the inception of this program three years ago, the students have captured scholarships within the top 10 on the island. This year is no different, as the national assessment champions are confident and ready to ace.
“Best of luck to all students across the island in your exams!! You’ve got this,” outlined the Minister.
Melissa Skerrit launched the National Assessment Champions Program, and since its inception, this program has consistently had a student who held a position in the top ten scholars islandwide. The programme is available only to the students of Grade 6, and preparation is done under the guidance of a graduate-trained teacher Catherine Robinson.
Minister Melissa Skerrit has always been at the forefront of doing more for the youth of Dominica because she believes that the youth is the country’s future and they will bring advancement to the country. She said she is proud of all these young minds have achieved and looks forward to seeing them thrive.
The preparations for the National Assessment Champions Program started on March 1 this year, and since then, students have been preparing hard to secure scholarships. Several other residents and citizens took to Facebook to give best wishes to the students.

God continue Blessings,” wrote a user named Mava Harry. “That is so nice of you to ensure the students are well ready for the grade six national exams,” wrote another user named Caryl Darroux.
