Dominica Labour Party announced that the rally, which was going to launch new candidate Lynsia Frank from Salisbury Constituency on Tuesday, November 29, was shifted to Vieille Case on the same day due to the threat reports.

The party was deeply concerned about the safety and security of the DLP supporters who were about to gather during the event.

As per the information shared by the party, DLP has been getting several reports of threats over the past few days, and it has risen in the last 12 hours.

The party was also informed that some elements of the United Workers Party, assisted and incited by the former Member of Parliament of the Salisbury Constituency, were planning to take actions to prevent Dominicans and DLP supports from participating in DLP’s candidate launch rally in Salisbury.

Some of the people belonging to the United Workers Party have also tried to create obstacles at the venue where the candidate launch rally event was about to start.

From these actions, it has been undoubtedly clear that the former MP has realized that his constituency is going out of his hands this time, and he will no longer be receiving a salary for doing anything.

“Rather than being angry at the people who had already made up their minds to vote for Dominica Labour Party on December 6 2022, MP should be mad at his party, who gave up and did not participate in the upcoming elections of Dominica,” said DLP.

Dominica Labour Party added that the actions of a former MP and a few UWP operatives were indeed threatening the peace and harmony in the society.

After coming to know about this, the party decided to shift the rally to protect Dominicans from any violence, destruction of property and even the loss of lives.

The Dominica Labour Party has also apologized to the many vendors and shop owners who have lost the opportunity to make a good amount of money from the presence of thousands of Dominicans who would visit Salisbury for the DLP Rally.

Dominica Labour Party is known for its discipline and history across the nation, and The party will continue the election rallies promoting peace and harmony in the country
